Claudio Stivelman, Eric Beck and Marcelo Borodowski jump with U. S. Army Golden Knights

If you received a call to tandem skydive jump from 12,000 ft., would you say “Yes”?

Three members of the Aventura Marketing Council’s  (AMC) Chairman’s Roundtable received just such a call, and not only said ‘Yes’, but were  overjoyed to do it!  There are numerous member benefits derived from joining the AMC......networking, great corporate exposure...but no one would have thought that jumping out of an airplane would be a premiere member benefit.

Because the AMC has established a long working relationship with the military beginning with ESGR  (Employers Support of the Guard and Reserve) Florida Outreach Chairman Peter Caspari, there are some amazing opportunities that are offered to AMC member companies who have demonstrated support for the military.  This support has been through hiring veterans or members of the National Guard and Reserve, sponsoring meetings to feature military speakers or most recently, participating in the Military Room Makeover project that involved eight  cities and organizations.

Recently, the US Army Recruiting Battalion Miami invited Claudio Stivelman, Shefaor Development; Marcelo Borowdowski, The Weintraub Companies and Eric Beck, IT Doctors, to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience...a tandem jump with the US Army Parachute Team, The Golden Knights.  The three “jumpers” arrived at Homestead Air Force Base for a tandem jump class and special instructions before dressing in the bright yellow aerodynamic jump-suits, harness, helmet and goggles.   They nervously anticipated the 15-minute flight to 12,000 feet.... did safety checks as the tandem master tightened all straps...a last look at the altimeter as the red light in the aircraft changed to green as they edged towards the exit to stare briefly into the abyss.  There was an immense ‘rush’ as their minds completely let go to fully enjoy the exhilaration of accelerated freefall.     Jumping out of a plane while attached by a harness to an experienced skydiver is the easiest way to achieve accelerated freefall without hours of pre-training and parachute instruction.

Seconds later, there’s a jolt when the main canopy opens, dragging both skydivers upwards for a split second before a serene, effortless five-minute glide back to terra firma, and the softest of landings.  After landing, there was an incredible desire to do it all over again!
